FACILITIES

 

The Laboratory for Remote Sensing of Earth and Environmental Systems (LARSEES) was created in 1999 to provide the necessary infrastructure for Dr. Treitz and graduate students involved in remote sensing research.

 

The scientific software complement includes:
• PCI Geomatica
• ITT ENVI and IDL
• ESRI ArcGIS (ArcInfo)
• Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing Software (MARS) for LiDAR analysis
• Trimble eCognition Developer
• Statistica, MatLab, SigmaPlot

 

Field equipment in this lab includes:
• ASD 350-2500 nm spectroradiometer
• two LiCor Plant Canopy Analysers

• three Vaisala GMP343 Carbon Dioxide probes and HMP75 RH meters
• 35mm SLR camera with an assortment of lenses including a Nikkor 8 mm fisheye lens
• Digital cameras, Tripods
• Corner reflector for SAR registration
• Trimble GeoExplorer 2 , Trimble GeoExplorer 2005 series GPS units
• Forest mensuration equipment
• Stereoscopes
• Hobo Meteorological Station
